Austin Mountain Bike Patrol

STATEMENT OF PURPOSE:

Austin Mountain Bike Patrol (AMBP) is a nonprofit organization uniting bicyclists and other trail users in the Austin, Texas area. AMBP's goal is to represent the interests of all trail users in the Austin area.

AMBP is committed to:

  1. Educating users of the Austin, Texas area in the safe and appropriate use of mountain bikes.
  2. Assisting trail users with mechanical and first aid needs.
  3. Promoting a positive image of mountain bicyclists with the general public and land management officials.
  4. Developing a trail protocol to help all trail users act safely and consistently in various encounters.
  5. Maintaining and expanding access to specific riding areas in the Austin, TX area.
  6. Contributing to the building, maintenance and patrolling of riding areas in the Austin, TX area.
  7. Unifying bicyclists into an effective responsible body.
  8. Working within our organization and with other trail user groups to define problems and develop solutions.
  9. Providing an organization with which land management administrations can work to solve problems.
  10. To communicate with and to provide support to local, state and national bicyclist organizations that promote the interests of mountain bicyclists.
