Sharing a message from Jenny Abraham and Jake Carsten Subaru/IMBA Trail Care Crew

Hey all!

Thank you so much for taking part in the events this weekend! We were so pleased that everyone took time out on Friday afternoon to attend our Better Living Through Trails presentation.

And thanks to all who came out to the Saturday trail building school and put time in at the Walnut Creek trails reclaiming the eroded fall line section and cutting in the new section of trail. We had a blast working with all of you and hope you are pleased with your handiwork.

Please check out our blog post about the weekend, along with pictures on Flickr!. If you have a sec, please post up a comment on the blog.

Please review the attached document titledTCC Follow Up Resources for plans to build your own rock sling, web links to tool and material resources, sign and map resources, and a link to our public Google Documents folder with a PDF copy of the Better Living Through Trails presentation and a variety of documents discussing the economic benefits of outdoor recreation and bicycling.

For anyone interested in potentially contracting with our professional trail building team, you can contact Chris Bernhardt (Director of Consulting Services) at chris.bernhardt@imba.com or 503-913-9623.

Please let us know if we can be of assistance.

Cheers!

The Bicycle Sport Shop 2011 Pace Bend Race and MTB Festival was a great success!

The morning was pleasantly cool but as the sun climbed higher, the heat followed and as racers hit the trail, clouds of dust rose like smoke from a wildfire. The trail was smooth, bone dry and incredibly fast as 545 determined racers participated in the 2011 Bicycle Sport Shop Pace Bend Race presented by The North Face and the Austin Ridge Riders.

BikeTexas kicks off Bike Month 2012 on Tuesday, May 1

BikeTexas kicks off Bike Month 2012 on Tuesday, May 1 with the online release of a new music video produced for our TxDOT-funded, 'CATS' presentations on College Active Transportation Safety.

Safety Bling! features comic rap duo The Rhymanese Twins, aka Jon Steinmeier and Noah Tabakin. This hilarious two-headed, three-legged rap team pumps out the BikeTexas safety message with phat beats, a hysterical, while educational plot line, and the help of rival UT and A&M college students on bikes.

Austin Ridge Riders...we do things different

Our wonderfully creative ARR Board Member and Trail Steward Extrodinaire LEIF DOVE was asked to build a podium for awards during this year's race. As usual, he outdid himself and gave it his own special touch.
