Lake Georgetown Loop
Going the distance to finish the Lake Georgetown Loop
Something wonderful recently happened at Lake Georgetown. Created in 1978, Lake Georgetown has original sections of trail that date back 1981 but mountain bikers always encountered signs prohibiting riding beyond a certain marker. On June 5, Trail Steward Lee Compton happily removed the signs to signify the grand opening of the 27 mile loop around the lake and completion of a project that began in 2002. This amazing accomplishment is due to the determination of Trail Stewards Dewayne Buratti and Lee Compton and numerous volunteers.
